Lately I’ve been reading a number of military science fiction novels and they are pretty fun. This has sparked my interest in physics and astronomy and that got me looking on the web for information. I found some neat stuff, but one in particular got my attention. Our Solar System – Size Of Planets and Stars to Scale is a video that starts out slow, but about half way through it gets really interesting. It shows the planets in relative scale to one another, then to the sun, then our sun relative to other stars. It was an eye opener to see how small our sun is compared to some of the giants out there in the galaxy. Enjoy!
According to this Wufoo Blog entry the company Wufoo known for their online form builder technology was recently purchased by SurveyMonkey for an undisclosed amount that was later disclosed by Think Vitamin as $35 million. You may be wondering why you should care. Well let me tell you. Aside from the fact that even little deals can make some folks big personal money, which is important, the more compelling story is that companies, some of them very unconventional, are out there delivering value and finding acceptance in markets that might surprise you. I have to confess that I’m always optimistic about the future. Lately I purchased the newest version of Dragon Naturally Speaking for my home computer. My objective was to interface with my computer in a more intuitive way. The results were not as good as I hoped, but I remain hope full that they will build on this effort to get there. I’ve always been interested in future tech. I’m actually writing this post from my iPhone before I head off to bed to read my Kindle. I’m a late adaptor, but sometimes you have to take a chance and help push the envelope. I’ve really enjoyed my Kindle very much, my phone ok and my Dragon just a little. One day, years from now when you mind click a video message from your daughter living on another planet, you can look back, way back, and remember the digital pioneers who led the way. You’re welcome!
I’ve been playing League of Legends for months and months now and I’ve been having a good bit of fun. I long since passed the 200 win mark and now I’m rapidly approaching the 300 win mark. Even though I’ve yet to play ranked I do feel like I’ve been around long enough to have an opinion on some things. So I decided to share with you a list of my favorite champions and what I like about them. Keep in mind that LoL is free to download and free to play so you can give the game a spin for no money out of your own pocket. That’s my kind of deal!

I am a person of uncomplicated means. A good book, a comfortable chair, a nice ice cold tea or steaming latte and a lazy afternoon are all that are required to pass a good time. One of my favorite things to do is going to a big box book store like Barnes and Noble and wiling away hours browsing through the stacks and discovering new and interesting books that I might enjoy. Ah, but the times they are a changing.
