Tonight I was putzing around on the web trying to find my coding mojo. I went over to Dojo Campus to check out the Moveable Drag and Drop feature. It was kind of cool and it certainly gave me some ideas. Then I went to Chris Shiflett’s Blog for a dose of PHP security encouragement. In a post called Putting the Bow on OmniTI Chris discussed the addition of two new staff members at his company. It was all very normal, until I noticed the link below:

Today I installed my new copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10. I couldn’t think of a better way to put it to use immediately than to post an entry in my blog.

My initial impressions of the product are very promising. I was able to use voice commands to work my way through the tutorial which was very well laid out. Dragon comes with a text editor called Dragon pad that allows you to practice editing a document. Although Dragon works with many programs, Dragon pad was perfect for working my way through the tutorial.

The first thing I discovered about the Zend Framework is that it is quite large. Each time I think that I have made progress in understanding a portion of the framework I run into something new or unexpected that slows me down again. My most recent road block occured while working on my home site (http://www.legendrefamily.org/). I was trying to use the Dojo JS framework to enhance the behavior of Zend_Form and I could not get the Dijit elements to work properly.
